morning of bitterness, afternoon of happiness and nite of joy.![]() Last night we soundchecked from 4AM till 6AM. We were supposed to start at 2:30 but CeCe Winans band had soundcheck problems so we started and ended late. CeCe Winans has amazing musicians. I didn't even want to go up there after her people got off. We finally crashed at 6. Woke up at 12:30 PM thinking that everyone had left without me to discover that most of us were still sleeping. Zito, Sherman and I wandered over to MGM with some friends and had the best afternoon ever. When we played Rock the Universe at universal studios, they gave us an escort to walk us around the park and cut us in the front of each line which was awesome, so I wasn't sure if MGM would do a whole lot for me. I'd originally planned to do the animal kingdom to take photos, based on zito's promise that it was "just like jurassic park". But it turned out he was lying, so we went to MGM. We started with the star wars ride, which made me happy just for the nostalgia factor, despite being slightly dated as far as ride technology goes. From there we did the tower of terror, which is amazing; it's basically a giant free fall. Melissa was telling me about a new breed of dog that's part shi-tzu and part poodle called a shi-tzupoo and I think I shi-tzupood my pants on that one. Somehow the lines were all really short and we got right into the stunt show, which had cars and motorcycles doing stunts, jumps and people on fire. (who doesn't love that?) and from there into muppets 3D, which like star wars got me on nostalgia alone. We ended with a ride on the poorly named rocknrollercoaster. That one accelerates faster than anything else I've ever experienced and I own a motorcycle that goes 0-60 in less than 4 seconds. You have to try it. Trust me. That one and tower of terror. Both scary, but well worth it. I generally don't like roller coasters cause I'm a wuss, but these two are worth checking out. We ended with a packed crowd for disney nite of joy and the show was amazing. Off to get some sleep now before the cruise. If you don't hear from me for a week, it means there wasn't internet access on the cruise. UPDATE: there is internet access on the cruise at $0.75 a minute. Ouch. So I am blogging nonetheless but it's not letting me post photosets so I will update later. UPDATE: here are the photos that go with this story: http://homepage.mac.com/maxwax11/PhotoAlbum29.html Posted: Sat - September 10, 2005 at 11:40 PM |
