Mauny is a member of the Magic Castle in Hollywood, California. He is also a member of the Society of American Magicians, and the International Bortherhood of Magicians.

He moved to Ventura, California from Arlington, Virginia in summer of 2006. In Arlington, he entertained children, teens, and adults in a variety of venues. He was the in-house magician at the Arlington Family YMCA where he entertained at birthday parties, after-school programs, festivals, and corporate meetings. Mauny was also booked through local agencies in Virginia, the District of Columbia, and Maryland. His experience spans school assemblies, libraries, festivals, theaters, community centers, parks, retirement communities, magicians' conventions, and corporate banquets.

TIMELINE:

1963 - Mauny had a magician at his birthday party, and a seed was planted.
1981 - While residing in New Orleans, he met a traveling Dutch magician who taught him a few new secrets.
1983 - A co-worker, and a close friend who was a past member of the Magic Castle, became Mauny's new, and most important mentor. With an arsenal of advanced magic skills, a newly generated passion for the art was re-ignited.
1984 - In New Orleans, Louisiana, Mauny joined a small circle of magicians known today as the "Knights of Sleights" (Led by master magician, Jon Racherbaumer). This group, of both amateur and professional magicians, would meet each Monday night at a local establishment to hone skills, to teach, to learn, and to perform for a few lucky patrons. It is during those late night sessions that his skill level truly improved.
1992 - Mauny moved from Louisiana to Southern California to work for a sub-sea oil service company. Despite a busy schedule, he managed to perform at a couple of trade shows, private parties, and local schools. He also performed, and taught magic to children at a private school in Ojai.
1998 - In order to dedicate more time to the art of magic, Mauny retired from a 22 year career in the commercial diving industry. He worked as an ESL schoolteacher while building his magic business.
1999 - Mauny and his wife Elaine - a professional storyteller who on occasions acts as his assistant - moved from California to Virginia. While there, his career as a magician took off. He performed at private parties, corporate banquets, picnics, libraries, community centers, elementary schools, festivals, parks, magicians' conventions, hospitals, theaters, and children's birthday parties. Mauny was also booked through three local talent agencies to perform in Virginia, Washington DC, and Maryland.
2006 - After traveling and performing in numerous cities in Australia during 2005-2006, Mauny relocated to Ventura, California.
