#22 BLACK MIDGE

| Hook: | Tiemco 100 #22 |
| Thread: | Black 8/0 |
| Body: | Built up thread |
| Tail: | Black hackle fibers |
| Hackle: | Black |
| Tying Instructions: |
| Place a layer of closely wraped thread along the shank from the eye to the bend. Make several wraps back toward the eye. Tie in the tail fibers. Tail should be approximately as long as the shank, and the fibers should extend forward to just beyond half of the shank length. Trim the forward end if necessary to get the desired length. Closely wrap the thread forward toward the eye over the extension of the tail fibers. This builds up the body. Just past the center of the shank tie in the hackle with the shiny side up. Wrap the thread forward to the eye, tie off with a half hitch but do not cut.. Wrap the hackle forward. Stop, tie off and cut the hackle leaving enough room to tie off and finish the thread. |
