Here's an 'extra' for you this time: two of the babies are facing each other, and the tech thought they'd capture it on film. |
Howdy Folks! Welcome again to our little world. We've met another milestone on our way to the Magic Kingdom (in our minds anyway). On Friday the 19th of September we went to get another glimpse at the miracles within, now completing the 26th week in the making. The doctors (we are being cared for by a team of three specialists in multiple/high risk prenatal care) are very happy that Nancy has behaved herself while on bed rest. To date the momma-to-be has gained a healthy 22 pounds, and kept it to good food with a few treats mixed in for good behavior. Therefore, she has been allowed to continue bed rest at home, evading the hospital police for the time being. Although the national average for birthing quadruplets is around 27 weeks, the folks here are shooting for 33-34, given meticulous monitoring and care...we'll keep ya up-to-date. Enjoy the latest family photos below, and thanks again for dropping by. Wayne |

Well, here's Baby "A". Although still keeping pretty much a mystery, the folks here are still putting their money on a girl. I guess it wouldn't be completely fun fun if we knew EVERYTHING that was going on - another bit of God's humor I suppose Doing fine, it turns out that she's in the vertex position, which is 'head down, feet up', and on the bottom of the pile. She's weighing in right now at 905 grams, which translates to 1.99 pounds. The heart rate measured in at 153bpm, which we're assured is great. |

This is Matthew, the best profile shot he would allow this time. He clocked in at 836 grams, or 1.84lbs, being an early gentleman and giving some extra room for his sisters...at least for now. His heart was also at 153bpm. We even got a demo of him learning to breathe while we were there - quite a treat (you'd be surprised what'll amuse you at this point in your life). Matthew is also in the vertex position, on the opposite side of Baby A. The two of them form a sort of 'V'. |

Here again is one of the girls, also kind of hard to get a decent shot of this time around; you kind of have to see past the cord and and hand in the foreground. She's the smallest of the ladies at the moment, at a petite 890 gram (1.96lbs), with a delicate heart rate of 14bpm - both are just fine according to our supporting medical team. Wanting to be different, she's in what's known as the breech position, with her feet down and head up. |

The biggest surpriser of the group, Baby D has shown the most growth since the last time, now a hefty (if the word can be used) 914 grams, or 2.01lbs. Her hear beat is a strong 150bpm. Also wanting to be different, in her own Calvin Klein way, she is in the transverse position, which means essentially laying down across everybody - she's positioned on the top and slightly to the rear. If you were facing momma, her head would be on her left (your right), and she's laying across with her feet on her right. She actually causes the most discomfort, as she unceremoniously kicks or rests her feet on an organ occasionally (ouch). |
