Hello and thank you for visiting my humble web site. Back in the mid to late
90's it was a pretty cool site, now it's definitely amatuer. So let's get back
to me. I'm 37 years old (as of this writting 3/22/05). I was born in New Jersey,
but grew up in Texas. Somehow I did not acquire a typical Texan accent. Many
people are surpirsed when I tell them I spent 25 years in Texas without sounding
like it.
I lived in 3 different cities. San Antonio (hometown), Austin (where I went to college at UT), and Houston. After Houston, I moved to Cincinnati as a transfer for Dave & Buster's. I lived there for 4 years and finally left Hell (as I call it) for Chicago, where I currently live.
I have just started with ESPNZone after working for Dave & Buster's for 10 years. Prior to that I worked for TV Guide (Murdoch Magazines Distribution specifically). I worked for them in Houston for 5 years. Prior to that I worked during college and after college for a couple years for the Austin American-Statesman.
I'm very much the geek. I'd have to be if I had a web site back in 1997 ;) I also was into the BBS world in Houston for a few years starting in 1995. I'm not one of those pioneers, but close enough. I enjoy video games, science fiction, fantasy, technology, etc. Typical geek stuff. As far as video games I pretty much play Halo2 on my XBox, and at one time was a damn good BattleTech and Red Planet player. Even won a few events.
I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in Music. I concentrated in elecctronic music. Most of my compositions are in a Dance/Techno/Pop style. I have some New Age pieces and one Classical-style piece. I enjoy most styles of music. Not a big fan of Country. And Rap is a hit or miss for me. Mostly a miss.
And I enjoy Blackjack as you probably could tell. I was a Blackjack dealer for a couple years at D&B. I became a really good dealer, and am still a good player. Though I don't get to go to casinos very often. However, when I win that Lottery, you'll find me there a lot playing Blackjack, and learning Texas Hold 'Em. When I retire, that's what I want to do. I want to be in the World Series of Poker and Blackjack.
That's a pretty good start for now.
