Animal rights activists should turn their attention to the inhumane treatment of horses sent for slaughter. Most people don't realize the trials the poor animals are put through when they are shipped, often without food or water and in stock trailers designed for cattle and pigs (think of the way a horses neck and head are set, they hold their head up, and you will realize how cruel this is). Many horses do not survive. Conrad Burns should be ashamed of himself. Yes, I know, he has said worse things, signed worse bills. But as a former equestrian, this really gets to me.
