Updating

I've been bad about keeping you updated. But you should know that we're having a good time. The trip to Montana was fabulous but I will say that it was also tiring. Magnus and Kai tested their lungs and the acoustics of the car were good enough for Val and I to harmonize the final phrase to "The Wheels on the Bus Go Round and Round." And when we weren't singing, we got some very good looks at rest areas, like we were pulling our kids out of the car by their ears. At the same time, it was wonderful to have someone to empathize with. (I'm talking about Val, not Magnus' "empathy crying.")

Magnus is growing and growing and growing. He has one pair of shoes that fit him right now, and I don't like the way he walks in them so he is running around barefoot a lot. Weather is holding up but we got to get to a shoe store quick. He also said his second phrase, "bye-bye poo." (The first was bye-bye papa.) I've been having him watch his poo get flushed down the toilet. It's all part of early toilet training. Don't get your hopes up. This could go on for months before we make the attempt.

We're no longer considering moving. Now that the nights have cooled off and school has started, Fremont has settled down. But I'm seriously considering organizing a potato brigade for next summer. Piss in my bushes and it will hurt. But we love our neighbors and we love Fremont, just not the weekenders.
