Up! up! up!
As Magnus has discovered the wonder of the
Fremont bridge (it rises to allow boats to pass through), I've been trying to
get him to the bridge in time to see it go up. That has meant rushing his
supper, running from our house, only to get there as the bridge is going down.
This, according to Magnus, is not nearly as
exciting.
Today, during our evening
walk, the bridge began to go up just as we were passing Sound Mind and Body,
along the canal. I carried him up (stroller and all) a flight of stairs, ran as
hard as I could the rest of the way and got there just in time. I ran so hard my
head hurt and I thought I might throw-up. But the bridge went up and Magnus got
a front row seat of the
show.
"Uh-uh-uh!" (His version of up,
up, up.)
Very nonchalant but a mother
knows when her child is pleased.
