Mary Alice Anderson
More about me!

My husband Bob and I are fortunate to live in Winona, Minnesota, in beautiful Southeastern Minnesota. Winona is located along the Mississippi River, on the Wisconsin border and close to Iowa.

I'm a graduate of Winona State University and taught in Caledonia, Minnesota, before beginning my career in Winona Area Public Schools

For a change of pace, I enjoy walking, bikeriding, gardening and watching the National Champion Winona State Warrior basketball team. I also enjoy attending plays, reading, participating in a book club, going out to dinner, getting together with friends and playing with our Siamese Cats, Nudder and Cody.

I enjoy the theater and do volunteer work for the Great River Shakespeare Festival, a professional theater group in Winona. I also do volunteer work for the Winona County Historical Society and am on the Society's Education and Events committee.

MaryAlice & Dala HorseYou guessed it! I'm Swedish--actually no more Swedish than Norwegian and a few other nationalities, but I do love blue and yellow. And, it's fun to be Swedish since I'm married to someone who is 100% Norwegian. I even spent my childhood on a farm in an area of SouthEastern Minneosta known as "Swede Bottom" and have a small collection of Dala horses. A coke and a doughtnut, Mary, a little reflection about a young girl and her dad, is a story I wrote many years ago about living on the farm and going to Belle's Cafe for a treat. I'd love to hear from you!
