Stuffed french toast, fresh berries, homemade muffins... don't you just love roughing it? Day 2: Ready to Rock 'n Roll! Worthington State Park: Pre-coffee "Is that a rock up ahead?" Don:"I know there's a ejector-button here somewhere!" The Dynamic Duo "I don't know which is sinking faster-the continent or me!" Rafting-up Caleb and his homemade boat "Did anyone mention the Class IV rapids up ahead...? Whatever happens, don't let go of that camera!" Boys will be Boys! "I told you I'd get it all in here!" Sue and Chip "Does anyone know which way we're supposed to go?" Ethan shows us... ...the proper way to smudge... ...and then leads us thru the Delaware Water Gap with a prayer. The Delaware Water Gap The Vice-Commodore and Commodore of Bordontown's Yacht Club welcome the Sojourners "What fuel crisis?" Heading into Hamilton-Trenton-Bordentown Marsh Low bridges... ...don't bother us! Sandy's cruisin'... ...and Bill's snoozin'! "How do you get around these poles?" Lunch-stop at the Marsh Friends for the Hamilton-Trenton-Bordentown Marsh "What do you mean, you 'forgot the salt'?" A Native-American meal Regina Thomas, Sec'y of State of NJ... ...recognizes Sojourn's Tenth Anniversary... ...and is appointed Lady High Admiral. After years of hard work, a precious historical site is designated a National Historic Landmark. Cliff swallows making do with what's available! Another Happy Paddler! Tacony-Palmyra bridge at night... and the next morning. Kayaks enjoying the view! The Palmyra Nature Center Heading downstream Another great bridge Alternate means of transportation! Off to lunch in the park! The Tacony-Palmyra bridge opening... ...to allow the Meerwald to pass. Seining the Delaware below the bridge. The mud flats at low tide Twenty years ago this seine would have been empty... ...but there's hope for the future! Striped-bass spawned in the Delaware A 4-5 y.o. striper. Our Eagle Scout helps out. Quick-how many kids can you count here? Why paddle against the current... ...when you can "line" your boat? They won The Paddle... ...and our respect and friendship as well! Joyce and Bill Off to Pennsauken Creek, our final destination-until next year!
