Lake Crescent Lodge, Port Townsend, and Seattle, WA
The next morning was an optional walk to Marymere Falls. The path Maribeth took us along followed the lake through the Olympic Park Institute then up the valley to the falls. The sun had not yet penetrated the valley. There was a steep section with steps up to the falls which was a lovely narrow stream cascading a long distance down the moss covered stone face of the cliff. We walked back to the lodge for breakfast and finished packing our bags to load up in the vans.
We drove to Port Townsend, which had a lot of nice galleries and restaurants. There was a crafts fair “uptown” that we didn’t make it to due to the short time (about 2 hours) we had to explore and eat lunch. We stopped into a very nice gallery featuring Native American artists where we bought a coffee mug. After lunch we bought a copper salmon to put on the deck wall.
From Port Townsend we drove to Bainbridge Island where we caught the ferry to Seattle. On the ferry we took our official group photo, drafting other ferry passengers to assist with the photography. The vans dropped us off at the Westin where we made our farewells on the sidewalk.

We checked into the hotel for another two nights. The room we were in this time faced the Space Needle – a very nice view that Jonathan took some shots at dusk and I tried a few as it was lit up at night.
The next day after breakfast, we walked over to the waterfront in search of the aquarium. After browsing the exhibits we ate lunch at one of the restaurants there, then walked through the Pike Place Market on our way to catch the monorail to the Seattle Center where we spent another couple of hours in the science museum.
