Synopsis:

The Bond Museum has become embroiled in controversy over a Kalistani exhibit called "Rava." Mr. Jameson, the chairman of the museum's board of directors, insists that the exhibit be open to the public, despite protests from a Kalistani cult that worships Rava. The Museum's curator, Professor Rushton, is approached by Mandak, the cult's leader and ordered to stop desecrating Rava. When Rushton refuses to cancel the exhibit, Mandak causes the room to shake using telekinetic powers. Startled, Rushton attempts to convince Mr. Jameson to cancel the exhibit. Jameson flatly refuses and chastises Rushton in front of Captain Barbera, Peter and others.

Later, inside the museum, Rushton attempts to convince Jameson of the seriousness of the situation. Their meeting is brought to an abrupt end when Mandak causes the idol of Rava to fall over on Rushton, crushing him under its enormous weight. Mr. Jameson is arrested by Captain Barbera and charged with attempted murder. With Jameson out of the way, Mandak focuses his efforts on "freeing Rava" from the museum, which includes stealing the idol, enslaving a young University student  to help with the task, and attempting to murder Captain Barbera. Now it's up to Spider-Man to rescue the idol and stop Mandak before it is too late for all concerned.

Comments:

A very spotty episode to say the least. Despite its engaging premise, the episode really isn't very exciting. The battle between Spider-Man and Mandak at the end of the episode is over quickly and ends in a rather disappointing fashion. The script is decent enough though, and there are a few funny moments which make the episode worth watching.
