Speak Common Language, (UNI 092)

The first point to make clear is that Speaking Common costs 0 card points. Virtually everyone can speak common. It is the language taught to youngsters so they can beg for or buy candy.
The Speak Common Language card is intended to allow characters to learn additional languages and keep track of what they learn on their character sheet. Commonly spoken languages include Dwarf, Tigrean, Vorn, Wakana, Farilan, Ebonesse, Haskalad, Raptor, Orc, Yithel and Selenesse. Your GM may decide that in her campaign some of these are ancient or that their are additional common languages. Penglai is either common or automatic in its own lands, but finding a teacher in the Stormlands would be very difficult and would be Ancient in the Stormlands. |

The Read and Write Common Language card is intended to allow characters to learn additional languages and keep track of what they learn on their character sheet.
Common Read and Write languages include Dwarf, Farilon, Haskalad, Raptor and Selenesse. Your GM may decide that in her campaign some of these are ancient or that their are additional common languages. Penglai is either common or automatic in its own lands, but finding a teacher in the Stormlands would be very difficult and would be Ancient in the Stormlands. Some languages do not have a known written version. Currently that includes Tigrean, Vorn and Wakana. |
