Bluetooth on Windows sucks

Believe it. The whole bluetooth experience on the Mac had been so painless that I felt emboldened enough to try it on Windows XP, to get my work Outlook calendar into my phone directly. What a mess - this involves using task manager to force quit installers before they remove the stuff they are supposed to install, screwing around with COM port settings, and banging your head against the desk until by pure chance you do something that causes the software to recognize that the phone exists. And even when it is finally working, the process is pretty flakey - lots of retries, unplugging and replugging things, just to get a big sync done. Awful. My advice - buy a data cable, or buy a Mac.
