Illustration for:
TITANIC SCIENCE EXHIBIT AT OREGON MUSEUM OF SCIENCE & INDUSTRY
Spring 2004
I created this digital illustration for a direct mail project promoting the “Titanic Science” exhibit at the Oregon Museum of Science & Industry (OMSI). After researching the Titanic wreck and the efforts made to investigate it, I understood the ship’s structure and how it lay on the ocean floor. I was then able to create a hypothetical scene of the bathysphere Nautilus shining its lights on the Titanic wreckage. I used Illustrator to create shapes and Photoshop to give the scene texture and create lighting. The scene is meant to evoke a feeling of mystery about the wreckage and the secrets it hides.
