BABY JAMES

I have so much to catch up on, but I couldn't wait another day to post these photos of my best friend Jamie's new baby boy James. I have known Jamie for over 15 years and we have always been there for each other. When I found out she was pregnant I was so excited, but also a little sad because she now lives in Montana and I couldn't be there with her during her pregnancy and to watch James grow up. When she called me the other week and told me she was coming into town for a couple days with James I was so excited. I spent yesterday afternoon with Jamie catching up and just watching James sleep and play. I couldn't believe what a great baby he was, and that Jamie was a Mom. It still is amazing to me to watch my friends become Mom's, they make me so proud!

Here are a few photos I snapped of baby James only 5 1/2 weeks old during my visit. He is so adorable and yummy, I could just eat him up!

1 + 1 = 3

Yes, 1 + 1 = 3! I tagged along with Jessica Claire to an amazing maternity session with the uber talented photographer Drew and her husband Chuck! I met Drew earlier in the year at the Bride and Bloom Anniversary Party and have been following her blog since. They are both UCLA alumni like me and we couldn't stop talking about the disappointing loss to USC over the weekend. Hopefully little Braden will follow in his parents footsteps and become a Bruin as well! Congratulations and good luck Drew and Chuck!

THE FISHBEIN FAMILY

I went to one of my favorite spots on Los Rios Street in downtown San Juan Capistrano the other day for a fabulous family portrait session. There is always amazing light, great scenery, and tons of fun pictures to take. We got off to a grumpy start because sometimes it's tuff to be a two year old and have just gotten up from a long nap. We played a little, read stories, and picked some flowers to get into the photo taking mood. I captured some great moments and had a ton of fun walking down the street, playing on the train, and visiting the petting zoo. One thing I learned from from this shoot is when you are shooting little kids you need to have a fast shutter speed, they just wiggle around so much you gotta be quick!

On a side note... Dr. Shane Fishbein is my Chiropractor and has been one of my greatest allies since my two car accidents this summer, Thanks Dr. Shane! He has really helped me get back on my feet and I couldn't thank him enough. If you are looking for a great Chiropractor and you are around the Mission Viejo area you should check him out (click here to see his website).

HONG KONG REUNION

On Monday afternoon I had a very special shoot with three lovely ladies! These girls have been best friends since grade school in Hong Kong and now live scattered across the country in Los Angeles, Seattle, and Ohio. They haven't seen each other in years and traveled to Southern California for a little reunion to catch up on gossip, fun in the sun, and do what girls do best...shop. They wanted to make sure their time spent together was captured so they hired me to tag along with them in Laguna Beach. Marilyn, Stella, & Stella were so much fun! They were up for anything and even wanted to make sure I got a shot of them jumping!

BABY SOPHIA IS HERE!

One of my favorite bride and grooms of all time, Brian and Michele, (I may be a little biased on favorite because they are my dear friends) just had their first baby the other week! Michele asked me to take maternity pictures back in February and she was just in time. A week after we took pictures she was on bed rest and in the hospital. Everyone was worried little baby Sophia would come way too early, but Michele was amazing and endured weeks of premature labor. Baby Sophia ended up being only three weeks early and is just perfectly healthy! Here are some of my favorite pregnancy pictures I took and one of little Sophia when I went for a quick visit last week. I'm going to have to go back in the next couple weeks and get more pictures of the little one and good old mom & dad.

She is just soooo adorable. . . I think she looks just like Brian.

We took some fun and playful shots. . .

Then we did some more intimate and arty ones. . . .

SARAH, JOHN & THE DOOGLES

Since I was down in San Diego for a few days at Thanksgiving I thought it would be fun to take my Sister's holiday pictures with her Boyfriend and their doogles (aka dogs). We braved the crowd of post Thanksgiving photographers and families at the beach in La Jolla and had a fun time. I knew it was going to be tough with the dogs, but I thought I could at least get their attention in the direction of the camera. Boy was I wrong. I think I am going to have to bring lots of treats and squeaky toys to my next shoot with dogs! Sarah and John were great and easy to photograph but their doogles made me work for my shoots!

Just watching the waves crash into shore. . .

Strolling down the beach in la Jolla. . .

The family. . . John, Kobe, Sarah, and Joey. . .

Just rough housing a bit. . .

Back out to the cliffs to catch a great sunset. . .

A little kiss. . .

And a smile. . .

A few last moments of great light. . .

Kobe and Joey just wouldn't smile at the camera. . .

John gave me the seal of approval when we finished the shoot. . .

Just one last shot of Sarah, John, and I. . .

LEE, ELLIOT & KAYLA

I traveled down to San Diego yesterday to visit some friends and photograph Lee and Elliot. Lee is due in about a month and you can't tell is pregnant if you saw her from behind! We had a blast shooting her beautiful belly!

Congratulations Lee and Elliot! I can't wait to see baby Kayla!
