New Year, New Job

Lauren Officially Launches Alkali Marketing

After putting everything in place before the holidays to become self-employed (securing marketing contracts, figuring out the logistical details, etc), I was very excited to get started.

Of course, arriving back home from Christmas I realized that my desk had become crafting/ gift wrapping/ picture framing/ letter writing central... which meant there was some cleaning to be done. As all projects like that start, clearing one desk turned into a rampage that included 6 closets and 2 bathrooms, but by new year's eve, even that part was complete (and 2 huge trash cans and a charity truck were filled).

Next I went on a slight shopping spree at the container store because who can start a business without a whiteboard, file folders, a pencil cup and a new color-coordinated trash can? Then to the used office furniture store for a good but reasonably priced office chair. In between all this, of course, I was finalizing my logo, business cards, and website.

And finally, I'm very excited to announce that Alkali is open for business!

And check out headquarters (complete with my credentials on the wall):
