Hello Piano, Goodbye Fish
We always knew we'd want a piano -- it's
important for us to make our future children suffer through music lessons in the
name of culture the way we did when we were young. So when Mom & Dad
offered us a great deal on their completely reconditioned 19th century Steinway,
we had to take it. That was about 6 months ago -- it took THAT LONG for the
piano to be delivered...Unfortunately,
the luxuries of living in Hyde Park do not include extra space for pianos, so we
knew we had to get rid of something big. With Marc's new hot rod obsession, he
felt that he was ready to give up one of his other hobbies, so it made sense to
find our fish (and their 110 gallon 4' X 5.5' home) a new place to
live.We *think* we have a buyer for
the tank-- we'll know more this week. As weeks turned into months waiting for
the piano, we got a little lax in our search for a new fish enthusiast. Till
then, we've managed to shove this:
and
this:
both into their own corners of tiny
study. Hopefully friends will be there to help us reposition the piano once the
tank is gone. That's when you know you have good friends -- when they read your
blog and then decide to step up and help you lift a piano. So we're here,
friends. Waiting for you. And thanks in advance for the
offer!
