Jason Finally Graduates

This weekend we were invited to a graduation party for one of our friends, Jason Middlebrook. Jason is the husband of Wendy who works for me at HireStarter and they have been great friends ever since Wendy started working with me. Jason, as some of you may know, attended Stanford with many of our other friends but his chosen profession, baseball, did not require that he graduate before moving into his career. To his credit, Jason only lacked a simple Spanish class to graduate but still, that kept him from having a diploma to hang on the wall.

Now, 8 years later, Jason's baseball career is pretty much over and he's makes a transition into a career in commercial real estate. The degree is a little more important now so he finished his Spanish class remotely and, this year, received his diploma from Stanford!

Our friend, Ben, decided that we couldn't let this pass without a good old fashioned graduation party and began planning the event. It was a doozy. Easily 30 people were in attendance for some barbecue from Rudy's to kick it all off:

Ben then conducted the ceremony complete with letters from the former president of Stanford, Jason's former professors, and his college coaches. Some of these were downright hilarious and everyone was completely amazed that they were able to get these people to write the letters.

Next, we played a game of trivia about Jason. Unfortunately some of the answers had us all questioning our friendship with the man :-) Here's Wendy announcing the questions to the teams:

Of course, what's a college party without a few keg games. Yes, that's a mother of a 6 month old about to do a beer bong... faster than anyone else I might add.

Everyone had a great time although I'm pretty sure we all woke up the next day somewhat happy that our college years are behind us.
