Winter Walks
Living within 10 minutes of natural bushland means I can enjoy a different walk nearly every day. Here are some recent ones.

Overlooking the coastal plain of Perth.
Mukela enjoys coming out by himself.
A good vantage point for spotting kangaroos.
Behind the escarpment, above Piesse Brook.
Along the Bibbulmun Track.
Thika is a lot more agile than I am.
The Bibbulmun Track is sometimes barely that.
Nearing the top of the Track.
A combination of early morning mist and smoke.
Luckily this path is easy to follow.
Sunrise through the smoky mist.
The above scene on a much clearer morning.
Looking SW over Piesse Brook towards Carmel and Bickley Valleys.
Behind Gooseberry Hill.
Mukela looking purposeful.
Mukela simply posing.
Heading home after another lovely walk.
A new walk, not to be repeated! One hour of climbing steep scree. Not fun.
Early morning monsters.
These grasstrees look almost like a family group.
Dawn walking in the bush is my favourite.
The civilised top 500m of the Bibbulmun track.
Typical escarpment vegetation, with plentiful grasstrees.
Helena Pipehead Dam
Can you see the wallaby? Can you see two?
Early Spring wildflowers - mostly shrubs at this stage.
The hovea is one of the first.
One of my favourite tracks.
