Webmaster harness - www.ruffwear.com Harness You will need around 20 inch depth of rubber at the top and bottom of stairs. 20 inch depth of rubber at the top and bottom of stairs. Full view. Notice treads run the width of the rubber. Be sure to cut so treads run this way for extra stopping power and grip. I left between 1/4 - 1/2 inch on each side of the step and at the back of the step.
