Once a system and a schedule was set up life began to return to normal. Cuffy made quick progress and the bandage came off after a week and he was toe touching after two weeks. After a month he was using the leg again and 8 weeks post op he was walking almost normally. I had hopes of him running in hunt tests in April and it looked like that would come to fruition.
Three months after surgery he returned to training and at the end of April of that year Cuffy became Ocean Spray Cuff-n-stuff CGC WC JH. He ran the tests perfectly and was sound and happy. I was ecstatic. My bouncing wild child had returned.
Cuffy is now 8 years old and remains active. He has been on Cosequin since the age of 8 months when he was diagnosed with OCD. I know use several holistic supplements such as Yucca, Bosweilia, Manganese, and Licorice on a daily basis. He also gets Deramaxx as needed with is 1 2 times per week or before and after a particularly active day.
