Ana Belén Rodríguez-Rodríguez

PhD student studying all polymer field effect transistors.

Ana Belén Rodríguez-Rodríguez is from Ourense in Galicia in Spain. She did her first degree in Physics at the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela. During this degree, she decided to come to Sheffield as part of the ERASMUS program. Ana was interested in doing a Ph.D. in particle physics somewhere and so I used my powers of persuasion to convince her that she should be doing polymers in Sheffield. Ana worked in collaboration with Professor Henning Sirringhaus at the Cavendish Laboratory in Cambridge and Dr Anthony Higgins at the University of Swansea to study the structure of all-polymer field effect transistors. She is using various surface analysis techniques including neutron reflectometry. On Tuesday May 5, 2009 Ana successfully defended her thesis before her examiners, Professeur Georges Hadziioannou (Université Bordeaux 1) and Dr Ahmed Iraqi (University of Sheffield).
