Mark Geoghegan

I am Reader in Experimental Polymer Science at the University of Sheffield. My research interests centre around the physics of polymers at surfaces and interfaces, heterogeneous media (gels), semi-conducting polymers, and soft nanotechnology.

I am co-ordinator of PolyFilm, a European Community funded Framework 6 research training network concerned with the properties of confined polymer films. An international conference on thin polymer films will be held in Sheffield in September this year, which will also celebrate the achievements of the network.

I am a co-author and co-editor of Nanoscale Science and Technology, a textbook introducing nanoscience and nanotechnology to final year undergraduates and graduate students. This book provides core material for much of our graduate-level training through nanofolio, the Universities of Leeds and Sheffield Nanotechnology Education Portfolio, of which I am director.
