Tournament Details

There are several distinguishing features that make the MAD FIGS Septathalon tournament unique. The most obvious is the innovative "Silver Sombrero" pairing technique, through which different teams are randomly created each round. At the end of the day, it will be not a team but a single player whose record will lead them to victory! Thus the competiton is open to unaffiliated players and competitive teams alike.
Additionally, this is the only amateur tournament we know of that uses an entirely computerized scoring system. The program is, by any practical definition of the words, foolproof and incapable of error (and available for download on Mac or PC).
Finally, the tournament is but one event in the MAD FIGS Septathalon, a two-day competition testing participants to the limit. The Frisbee Golf event on Friday afternoon is a great way to warm up for Ultimate.

While the tournament schedule is fast-paced, the early start allows us to avoid most of the afternoon heat. Last year we played games to 7 with two fields of 6-on-6, but this year's attendance may be higher.
