Red Eye- a good realistic thriller


This movie i went to see at the last moment with a friend, i had never heard of it before walking in, but it was good watching. The film isn't amazing but i think it's a great thriller!

Red Eye stars Cllllan Murphy (played the bad guy-Scarecrow- in 'Batman Forever') as an assassin and Rachel McAdams as a hotel desk manager who meets this 'really nice man' (or so he appeared to be), in the airport.. of course who wouldn't trust someone who helps u out with a grumpy jerk in the airport.. buys you a drink.. and then ends up siting next to you.. as the plane takes off all is revealed when she asks him what he does.. he says, "As fate would have it, my business is all about you".. then all the warmth disappears from his face and it doesn't turn out to be such a love story after all.

The terrorist explains her father is being held hostage and he will be killed if she doesn't phone up her hotel and arrange for the deputy secretary to be moved to another room so him and his family will be an easier target. Of course it isn't as simple as this as lots of things make this very complicated (just overlooking the fact for a minute that she knows the deputy secretary personally making it hard to move him so he can be killed), the phones going out of order on the plane make it harder and as she makes numerous attempts to get help she is reminded that if the phone call isn't made on that flight her father will die.

It's a good thriller because it isn't over the top, isn't too dramatic, it is very realistic!
I wouldn't say it's fantastic, most of the film is on the plane but it's really cool as she stabs this guy in the throat with a pen and does a runner when the plane hits the ground.. she kicks arse all from that point and it does get quite exciting..

..so.. not amazing.. but if you want to kick back with a thriller then you should maybe consider it!
