War Of The Worlds

War Of The Worlds i have finally gone to see and it's an utterly breathe-taking film! Absolutely amazing!

'War of the Worlds' is very impressive and i don't think anyone could have played the lead part better then Tom Cruise. It's breathe taking and will leave you thinking for the rest of the day about how we would all act and handle a situation of being under attack and having our world invaded.

This film is not what i would call scary, but i do think a 12 rating is still too low. There are some jumpy bits and some things might actually scare someone of the age of 12, so Im thinking maybe it should be a 15 rating.
Tom Cruise really does manage to pull you into the film with his very realistic acting, and the film being directed by Steven Spielberg makes it absolutely amazing. Tom Cruise + Steven Spielberg= A GREAT MATCH!
At the beginning you see Tom Cruise running away from these machines that have just exploded out of the ground and for me this really was breathe-taking, you see everyone around him being zapped into dust as he runs for his life to his children. You can feel how scared he is when he meets back at his house with his son and daughter (who have no idea what has happened yet), it's a breathe taking film and surely not one to miss.

Before i went in to see this at the cinema i was expecting it to take a while to start as i thought it would have to set up the story etc, you how most films must set you up before getting to the plot..
Well this film was perfect, it didnt go straight into all the action, but it started straight away, it went straight to the point, it actually starts with the strange weather and lightening as soon as his children have been dropped off around his house.
So if you are worried of getting bored at the start because you have trouble with being patient in films then don't be! This film is perfect for you!

The story of 'War of the Worlds' is still very much based on the original story which was the radio show narrated by orson welles
There may be a few changes but its still based on the story, even though it has some new ideas, maybe looking a bit more modern it is still as breath-taking as the original story, the only big change is that it's now based in Philadelphia, not London like originally.

War Of The Worlds is a magnificent film, a film that also shows realistically how unfortunately everyone would work against each other in hostility, but also not forgetting how we would work together as a team. It will leave you thinking about it the whole day, and a film that stays in your mind like this and has this much impact on you is one that is definitely not a movie that should pass you by without watching!
