Trivium Rocked! Tuesday night
after a long and boring day at school i went to see Trivium perform live at
Colchester Arts Centre! Mannn did it rock or whaaat?! My neck is killing me, my
ears are ringing and i had a fantastic time!! (PICTURE SHOWN FROM LEFT TO RIGHT:
DRUMMER, LEAD GUITARIST, LEAD SINGER AND GUITAR, BASS
PLAYER)I had such a great time i think pretty much all my friends know where i was Tuesday night now hehe.. i say it all at once and it just seems to all come out into one sentence, so now im trying to put it down in writing without it sounding like complete and utter jibberish! So here it goes.. Yes.. Trivium! My mate ordered the tickets and i didn't even know who the band were. I opened up a Kerrang magazine.. ah.. there they are.. Trivium.. well, at least now i know what they look like.. geez.. The first time i heard their music was the actual night i was going to see them, i quickly got onto the itunes music store and listened to a few clips of their music.. and i already knew it was going to be heavy, but woww.. very good music, i was looking forward to it now but i wasn't overly excited because i wasn't sure what to expect.. i had never been to Colchester Arts Centre before.. i just heard it was quite good. Anywaaaay.. me and my mate lined up with some other people we met there in the que, and not only were we lining up beside Triviums tour van! But the lead guitarist walked out right past us and was standing like 5 feet away.. i was like woooah.. i saw him in that Kerrang magazine!! hehe.. I couldn't believe he was just standing right there.. i was daring myself to go and hug him.. and i wanted to, it's just for some reason my legs wouldn't move! They were paralysed for some reason.. maybe the reason being was maybe if i went to hug him he might think im a fan assulting him and all his bouncers would come out and drag me aside telling me to put my hands on my head..?.. ok maybe that's a bit over the top.. basically it was just me chickening out! So anyway, we finally got in the place and the support bands were already playing.. wow.. they were great, i almost mistaken them for Trivium! But nooo.. i saw them in my Kerrang Magazine remember!! Soooo I know what they look like and that weren't them! HAH! We squeezed through the crowd and got to the front.. well.. near enough, there were about 3 lines of people in front of us, so it wasn't too bad.. but it didnt help they all seemed to tower over me like i was a small insect. But once i got into it it was sooo awesome! Eventually Trivium came on! That was the best! Everyone headbanged together, and if we jumped everyone would hold on to each other (because if one person fell over then another would fall over etc.. all about team work ya seee) and it was just so cool, great atmosphere! Everyone seemed to be syncrinised together no matter what we all did! Behind me was a big space filled with all these moshers.. some people seem to think mosh pits are just people head banging.. gawd.. you're WRONG! If i had got sucked into this whire pool of moshers i would have been done for! It really did look like a whirlpool, they would go round and round in a circle shoving into each other.. sometimes me! grr.. which was really annoying when one is trying to sophistically head bang! It was my first
heavy metal gig and i really liked it, such a great atmosphere, i came out
soaking wet (from having water chucked over us from the stage.. and also trying
to drink water being passed around that i kept spilling having being knocked
around in the crowd), i also came out with a neck that was near enough to
breaking (and still is) from head banging so much, and i also came out with a
very interesting new hair style.. one of which i wasn't prepared to try out for
a new fashion.. (ya know how ya hair gets if its wet and then trying to mosh..
yikes!) But hey i was also exhausted and very happy! Now i'm very much looking
forward to the Download Festival! 3 days of all this! Hellll yeah! Although i
think i may be deaf for the 2 weeks after i leave though, my ears are stilling
ringing from this one gig! Also, did ya know that there are some reeeally nice looking guys who like metal? There was one i was jamming with in the crowd.. but the thing is we didn't even speak to each other, we were just sorta enjoying the music together, he must have been about 28 so i guess he was too old for me.. but wow.. i wouldn't of minded seeing him again! Geeeez... i was kicking myself coming out of there not getting his number! And i still am kicking myself! I completely lost him, hopefully one day i will see him again but i doubt i will! It's very annoying when u regret things you didn't do when you know it was such a simple thing! Ahhh well.. next time! Anyway.. i think i have pretty much covered it now.. i hope it didn't come out as badly as it was all building up in my head. Oh and i have finally got a Trivium album now and im still of course very much a fan of their music, except i think sometimes they scream too much, but hey it still isn't bad.. i just don't think i can have it full blast for a while until my ear drums repair themselves.. that ringing sound won't go away.. i can no longer tell if my phone is ringing or not.. nevermind, it was worth it! Oh and i hope that guy i talked about reads this article and recognises me! That would be so awesome! Hehe.. i know i know.. am i dreaming or what?! But hey if you are a fan of Metal then check out Trivium.. particularly their album 'Ascendancy'. Recommended songs would have to be 'rain' and 'dying in your arms' Snapshot Link 1: http://www.portlandmusicians.com/crave/2005/03/interview_trivium_01.jpg Snapshot Link 2: http://www.metalzine.com/photos2/montreal_20050206/trivium%20(3).jpg | | Posted: Thu - September 22, 2005 at 04:45 PM |
