christmas is coming.. but what is it coming to?



*sigh* christmas.. my favourite time of year.. everyone comes together, all atmosphere is warm and yet the weather is freezing.. coming home to a roasting crackling hot fire.. the inevitable work xmas parties.. turkeys being stuffed with anything and everything your mum can find in the kitchen.. where presents are wrapped and trees are worshiped.. not forgetting picking the daily fights with your car every freezing morning where the windows look like they have turned to ice.. anyway.. this is all the norm.. but what is it with the 'new' ideas for cheesy xmas gifts that keep coming out..

It's the same every year, you know when it's xmas, or halloween, or easter or any other big event.. because all you need to do is walk down into anyone of your local shops and it will be completely covered with the event theme at either stupidly cheap prices or ridiculously high prices, but the thing is with christmas, have you noticed that the time at which it's halloween they start to bring out the christmas decorations and the themes start to creep into the shops? I promise you it starts earlier every year! I swear it!

Well anyway, i realised this ages ago, and if you didn't then you should really be looking around you abit more, the one thing i started to notice though while browsing at what amusing gifts i could buy my friends and family.. i noticed the the new xmas gimic gifts... wow.. they are really running out of ideas.. i cant believe how cheesy santa toys are becoming. These toys you find in shops where it says 'press here'.. and u go to press it which is on a santas hand or something but of course they never work because all the kids have already got to it before you and run the poor sods batteries right down.. BUT.. if you DOOO eventually find one (which is worth the hunt just so you can understand what im saying) check it out, it will sing a song that sounds like it was just made up there and then the day it was put into the store.. and the movements it makes will involve the hands making continuous up and down motions.. annnd (if you're lucky!!) the legs might just kick about too!.. geez..

The idea is amusing.. but come on.. could have put abit more thought into it.. there is one i saw in my local garden centre the other day that i found highly amusing, it was just santa shaking his booty to some music, but it was well done! Had a little effort put into it!

We all know christmas is coming.. but what is it coming to? We all know it should be about everyone coming together, exchanging gifts and sitting around a fire with a tree laughing at the years they have spent together.. it shouldn't be invaded with these cheesy gimics.. but what can you do?
