Dispatch -an inspiration by 'word and mouth'

Dispatch, the most inspiring group of 3 i have ever heard and seen!
Their music is mostly acoustic and alternative pop, i had trouble trying to define this music, you can also find elements of reggae, funk, even rap in their music as well to create their own unique style, they are very experimental too. A great example of this is their mostly known song 'Elias', starts off very slowly with a slow build up with strings and bongo drums, and african singing, it takes just over a minute for the song to change to english and get going, but its great.

The band are made up of Brad Corrigan, Pete Heimbold, and Chad Urmston, they can all play guitar and all pitch in on the vocals. This talented Boston group were all for independence and didn't give in to any record labels that were heading their way.
Dispatch are an inspiration to us all, especially to all the ammature bands out there who say they can't make it because they haven't got a record deal, well i can safely say that's complete rubbish! Look at Dispatch! You know how they got big? how they sold thousands of their own original style of music? It was all by word and mouth, by playing at lots of gigs, by fans talking to other fans, by discussions in forums, they got big because their music was worth it!
There was no icing on these guys, nope, it was all about music from the start, their tours filled up with their supporting fans and nothing to could bring them down now- doesn't this show you it can be done!?!
Eventually however, they ended their run with releasing a live album 'Gut The Van', which is a great album, but they had got so far in what they wanted to do, to travel around the world, meet new friends and make music, that they had decided that they had done it, they had had their fun, so they decided to break up so they could quit while they were ahead.
But fear not, their music is still being sold even as you read this right now, and even if this inspiration is no longer making music at this current time, they still don't fail to inspire others as the years roll on. I find people all around me are still discovering the world of Dispatch, and its not ending here, i hope each and everyone of you who read this feel just as motivated as i did just to get their music show your support and see how great they really are, and as you listen to them just think how that music wasn't even touched with a 10 foot pool by any media.
I love this band so much because i have so much respect for them, considering how well they did and how they did it, and i really don't think its music people should not know about, and everyone should know about how they did it, so please take my advice and check out their music, go to http://www.dispatchmusic.com/site/index.html and check out their biography to get the full story on how they did it, and also check out their store, purchase 'Gut The Van' or any other cd's here

Listening to Dispatch you can expect some great lyrics and great stories being told, all the words and lines have some great meaning, and they are so very original, the songs are truly amazing, and shouldn't fail to impress anyone, there are some excellent stories told, 'The General' is a complete classic, and 'The Flying horses' is one to add to your list as well. This music never fails to make me happier just that little bit every time i listen to it.

For example a sample from 'Open Up'

'..so they took me down to the gallows
and this boy he say to me
why do you smile when the rope's around your neck
I said I tell you boy when I get back
I said I tell you boy when I get back..'

Also from 'The Flying Horses'

'..the river of doubt gave birth to a beautiful stone
and in my hands I held it and I knew I was on my own
so I picked it up and held it to the sky
and in my reflection. I knew I was all alone
then I saw this girl with the most beautiful hair
she had it wrapped around her for clothes she did not wear
I asked her for a lock and she complied, after leaving
gorgeous footsteps in the sand as if she didn't care...'

Some simply wonderful lyrics here, great music too, i strongly urge you all to listen!!
