Everlast Review



I was trying very hard to figure out what to start off with in this category, because there is so much music i want to tell you about, but where to start??
So as Everlast was the first new discovered obsession that started me off, i thought what better way to start you all off as well!

Everlast is a solo artist and was first in House of Pain, and still is. House of Pain is a hip hop group that Everlast actually formed with a friend from his high school. Everlast's first album 'Forever Lasting' is very hip hop and alternative, i think he was still trying to discover his style as he was still used to be making hip hop music with House of Pain, but as you will discover listening to the other albums, you do hear his style progressing, he still has some element of hip hop in his music, but his songs start to get a blend of folk, hip hop, rap, rock, and blues. You can never judge what his music will be like until you listen to it.

This is why i admire him so much, because you can really see (hear) he has explored and tried new things with in music. Everlast's album 'Whitey Ford Sings The Blues' is mostly all hip hop, and 'Eat At Whiteys' is hip hop aswell but starts to involve other genres aswell.
As you go through the albums you can really see the music changing and progressing, you can see him being a true artist and not just a money maker making the same old music to please the same old fans.

Everlast's album 'White Trash Beautiful' has got to be my most favourite album by him though, as it includes most of his genres of music that he has done- It's like the concluding album. All the other albums include different music that he was trying out to see what he liked best, and what suited his style, etc, and now here on 'white trash beautiful' he has made a master piece of work.

This is certainly one album i would recommend to anyone who wants to find some new music, although to get into Everlast i think you have to be quite open minded at first, so don't junk it until you have given it a chance.
