12" iBook.. why not the 12" powerbook??

As a well earned reward for my exam results my mum told me if i got at least 5 C's or above then i would get an ibook...

Waaahoooo.. its ordered.. now im eagerly waiting by the door for every postman or delivery man who approaches. If it doesn't come by the end of the week (which it should be) im going to have to start prodding each man, woman or child with a postmans hat on who comes to my door with a very sharp stick- doing this maybe it will speed them up?.. i hope so anyway- i have no other ideas..

You might be thinking that an iBook is a very big present.. and you're right.. it is! But i have mainly got this for a reason which being that i do actually need it, im starting 6th form college now and a laptop is one thing that will come in very useful.. and also i do just want one so i can go wireless around my house and waste my time chatting to people on it.. but thats not a very good reason is it? So.. yes.. i need it for 6th form college.. and work.. and.. stuff.. ahem..

I did have the choice of getting the 14" iBook.. or even the bigger powerbooks.. but typically.. the one laptop i actually wanted was in fact the cheapest anyway.. even though i had a choice of getting the most expensive. I just think if you are going to buy a laptop what's the point in getting the most biggest and heaviest one? The whole point of a laptop is so you can carry a computer with you without it being really heavy and getting in the way.. its so you can be easily mobile by packing away your computer without any hassle!
So thats why i went for the smallest.. 12" iBook.. i hate big heavy laptops, i just don't see the point..

I did take a look at the 12" powerbook however.. but i couldn't see a whole lot of difference apart from the ridiculous price and the choices of drives.. what's impressive about the powerbooks is you can choose out of the 12" laptops weather to have a combo drive or a super drive.. now thats good because the 12" ibook don't do super drives at all.. but it's £1,199.01 to have the superdrive in the 12" powerbook.. and £1,049.00 for the regular combo drive in the 12" powerbook.. soo.. as i couldn't see much of a difference between the 12" powerbook.. i really couldnt see the point in my mum having to pay all that extra money for a few changed details.. the 12" ibook.. it was an extra £350 because the iBook 12" is only £699 (without upgrades).. so come on.. it IS abit steep having to pay £1,049 for a 12"powerbook when you can buy a 12" IBOOK for only £699..

The powerbooks might be abit more professional.. but i really don't need it, iBook will suit me just fine! Only thing i didn't like about the iBooks was how big the hard drive and memory was, so we have ordered it to be upgraded, so now my iBook will have 1GB DDR33 SDRAM instead of 512MB.. and an 80GB Ultra hard drive instead of 40GB.

Anyway.. i must get back to prodding postmen with sharp sticks through my letter box.. it should hopefully be arriving this week. I'll also show it off on my blog logo.. replacing that g4 powerbook on my lap with the lush white design of an ibook... but not just any iBook.. MY iBook!- wooooohooooo..
