This is an independent film that looks to have an
interesting message for Christians or anyone who claims a faith
tradition.

A rambling about fuel prices. I drive a
diesel car and passed a station last night selling diesel for $4.19 a gallon.
Given the facts that are coming to light about how our President was advised and
went along with the idea that what the office of President says is law is law
without review, it seems to me that the President could do something about the
speculation that is driving up the cost of fuel in this
country.

Though I don't do it enough, I enjoy reading the
Sunday morning paper online. Yes, we get the local paper delivered to our door
that I eventually flip through at the end of the day, but there are a few online
papers that I like reading on Sunday mornings when I have the time. The New
York Times, the Scotsman, BBC World, The Hindu, and the Wall Street Journal are
a few of the places I surf on any given Sunday.

One of my favorite sites, Fora.tv, streams videos
of conversations and lectures on a variety of topics. There is a great lecture
by E.J. Dionne discussing his book, Souled Out: Reclaiming Faith and Politics
after the Religious Right. Mr. Dionne a columnist for the Washington
Post.

Frontline, PBS, is the last objective place to
find some kind of 'truth' on a variety of issues. This evening I watched part 2
of the report, Bush's War, and in my opinion it confirms that VP Cheney has been
the mastermind of Bush's war, and yet has not had to live with any
accountability or consequences of any of his actions. When do average citizens
whose husbands, wives, and children who have been deployed, maimed, and killed,
get the chance to hold governmental officials accountable? Who speaks for them?
Isn't that more patriotic than my country right or wrong?

In recent weeks it has become apparent
to me that corporate America is comfortable with either a Senator Clinton or
Senator McCain presidency. My guess is that those who need America to be the
'evil' country also are comfortable with either Clinton or McCain because they
will act predictably when America is called 'unjust' or attacked with words or
worse. To that end the news media owned by multinational corporations have
turned to researching people associated with Senator Obama, and doing what they
typically do to discredit someone they don't think they can
control.
I don't believe
that voting matters in a general election. Even around here in Lexington, KY,
voting on local issues might be the only way my individual vote matters to
actual systemic organization of our local govenrment. I have written about it
here before. But, the words of Senator Obama are like none other that I have
read or heard from a candidate for President. I may need to vote for my own
well being knowing that it doesn't matter except to me. I don't know if this is
that much different than those who believe their vote really matters.
Responding to race and the words of his former pastor today, here is the written
text of Senator Obama's speech. It is an example of why he is overqualified to
be President of these United States.
