Tigger's a Tabbycat, lean and mean and not keen
on his food when the others are there.
He growls and he scowls and he prowls and he yowls
till they've gone from their dishes to wash their faces.
But... TIGGER IS BIGGER.

Topsy's his sister, heraldic and white, but blank in mind,
one blue eye, one yellow, a ruby and emerald when caught in flashlight.
Her wondrous long tail twists and twirls and curls into whorls,
when she's confused, amazed or bemused.
But... TIGGER IS BIGGER. |

Toby is cute, with his white moustache and paws and bib and armpits and flash
on his tummy, contrasting with darkest jet black.
The bells on his collar warn birds of his coming
but still they get caught by speed and cunning and little is left.
But... TIGGER IS BIGGER.

The strange dark cat, who might be Burmese, lies asleep on his back
dreaming of chocolate and mice and cheese and foxes and rats and scraps from the table and scraps with tomcats who get in his way in the garden or alley.
Sometimes eyes open, deep caverns of darkness,
an alien world, where he lives out the memories of a long distant past.
But... TIGGER IS BIGGER.
And in HIS dreams,
TIGGER EATS VETS! |
