My Dwarf Puffer tank
Current occupants include 5 Dwarf Puffers, 3 Otocinclis catfish, 5 Amano Shrimp

The tank's relatively young as far as the plants go
Sword plant, chain sword, Watersprite, Marimo Moss ball and Puffers

Java Moss
my LFS only charged me $3.99 for that huge ball of Java Moss
here's the tank in better lighting
hopefully my "Tribbles" will outcompete the algae

Marimo close up #2
rather attractive plant, dontcha think?
would it surprise you to know that this cool looking plant...
is actually ALGAE?!?
Ayuh, that's right, Cladophora aegagropila
since it's algae, it outcompetes the "bad" algae for nutrients

i wish my puffers weren't so camera shy
Otocinclis catfish, a vicious, nasty predator....
...of algae
they're always hungry, always searching for tasty algae
Tank update as of Jul 7, 2004
removed most of the rocks, added a piece of driftwood and rubberbanded java moss
Added in some Hornwort
this stuff is growing like a weed....
...which it is, but still....
the tank seems to be coming along nicely
at this point i'm still just getting the plants situated and healthy
added in some Sunset Hygro...
And some Ludwiga Repens
and another Pygmy Chain Sword
The swords are taking off nicely
the one on the right already has sent out a pair of runners....
and each runner has 2 baby swords, looks like the "Lawn" effect is going well...
Hornwort may be a weed, but it's a nice looking weed...

the real monster in this tank is the Water Sprite, it's taking over the tank

Oto cat in a rare quiet moment
it's pretty rare for these guys to be resting
Must be in a union ;)
Tank update 7/13/04, thinned the Water Sprite, it's getting too big
added some Pearl Weed (foreground)....
pulled the Crypt Wenditii and added another Pygmy Chain Sword in it's place
trimmed down the Red Temple and Ludwiga Repens, they were coming down with algae
Hopefully, with the watersprite thinned out, more light will reach the swords
Hornwort still going strong
added a homemade CO2 injection system
still looks a little shaggy, aquascaping will come soon
Tank update 7/20/04, added bogwood with rubberbanded Java moss, moved rocks back
Amano Shrimp resting on Hornwort
These guys decided to be cooperative for once
Oops, forgot to turn off the flash...
That's better, gives you an idea of their coloring
