couple of months and judging from the great time we spent with them last
weekend, we are soooo looking forward to capturing some awesome wedding images!
for their engagement session, they totally trusted us with our "locations" and
the end result was great! i think it wouldnt matter where we took their photos,
they are such a happy, talkative, fun couple that capturing cool images of them
was easy :)

share a few pics from carlos and violet's awesome engagement session! we met in
downtown l.a. and shot at the walt disney concert hall. we all had a great time,
these two were super-duper awesome people and once again.......super-duper easy
to photograph!

month. they contacted us 2 weeks before their wedding and we're so glad we had
the date open because they were just a blast to photograph!
the more and more we shoot engagement sessions, the easier and easier it becomes to help our clients relax. unfortunately, dina couldn't make it to this session, so i felt a little awkward at first. dina and i usually interact quite a bit during these sessions because it seems to help the couple relax. but since she wasnt there, i thought i was going to have to "work it" big time. but gilberto was a natural in front of the lens! since he was completely relaxed and comfortable with my camera in his face, nora came around and pretty soon forgot all about me and all the nonsense i was talking about :) Posted at 11:36 PM Read More Mon - July 7, 2008carlos+violet--engagement (preview)we had a great time shooting carlos and violet's

going with me to shoot weddings. i showed her the basics, put a nikon d70 in her
hands and would guide her as we chased the bride and groom around. she's since
been at my side assisting and second-shooting at weddings, engagement sessions,
family sessions and baby sessions. i look back now and dont know what i'd be
doing without her at those times :) i give her very little direction now at
weddings, no direction at all other sessions, i want her to think on her own.
sometimes she doubts herself, gets frustrated because she thinks she should have
done better. sometimes when the pressure is on during a wedding, she puts me "in
check", reminding me i'm her "husband" not just the boss!
as most of our very patient current clients know, we've been reallllly busy these past few months and seem to continue to be inundated with work. since we both still have our 9 to 5 jobs, it's become a little stressful lately. free-time or us-time is as good as gold right now! anyhow, with all that said, we've made a big decision and started making plans for dina to quit her job soon and take care of this little "photo thing" of ours that has continued to take on a life of its own. dina was a little hesitant at first, a little scared, a little unsure about these plans. but as you can see with the following few pics, i think dina shouldnt have too much to worry about :) in less than a year she's gone from not knowing what an f-stop, shutter speed, fixed lenses, or iso is to shooting stuff like the following all on her own. i know she'll able to handle all that fun post-processing work (that drives me crazy) just as easily as she caught on to taking the purdy pictures :) Posted at 07:12 PM Read More Fri - June 6, 2008MICHAEL+CASSANDRA....ENGAGEMENT (PREVIEW)michael and cassie were awesome to shoot. we
