Metrolink and Olvera St.

A few weeks ago, we decided to take a little day trip to downtown los angeles using the metrolink. First, we wanted to use the metrolink because neither one of us could remember the last time we used it and second, Dina wanted to exchange one of her anniversary gifts i gave her (more on that later). So, we caught the train at the station about a block from home and 45 minutes later, we were at Union Station, across the street from Olvera St., where I had bought her gift.

We were in a rush, so we there only about 1 hr, but we managed to exchange her gift, tour the oldest home in Los Angeles and take a few pics. Since it's a very old, historical area of the city, I figured a "sepia" look was just right for this post. Most of us in l.a. really depend on our cars and we tend to forget that the metrolink can take us all over the place in the l.a. and orange county areas, so if you are ever looking for something to do.....try out the metrolink!

Here's the oldest house in Los Angeles....

....isnt the crib kind of scary?....

....i love the mood of this piano shot. it's kind of eerie....

....after the tour of the little house, we were off to exchange dina's gift.....that's why she's all happy here.

....these "good luck" hooves can hide your 40-ouncer!...

.....i asked dina to buy me one of these "Mil Mascaras" masks so that i can use it to freak people out when i play basketball. she refused!

....here's her 2nd anniversary gift...a cool, handmade, hand-painted, one-of-a-kind, "hippie bag"....

.....i couldnt resist the cheesy effect of adding color to this photo! I'll give more info on these bags in my next blog post.....as you can see, once dina had her purse, there was no more attention for me! it was time to go!

....so we had to boogie to get back in time for the next train!....

....i love this shot. i will make sure to use union station in an engagement or portrait session soon!.....

.....here's dina, not even aware that i stopped!....notice, she's already using her bag.....
