Wed - May 7, 2008GERMAN+BERENICE....ENGAGEMENTWe caught up with German and Berenice at the
Claremont Colleges to shoot their engagement session. They were ready to go as
soon as we found them and were super-duper easy to photograph. It surprisingly
got really cold near the end of the shoot but Berenice was way tough and hung in
there as long as possible. Thank you guys for making it such a fun evening! Cant
wait for your wedding in August!

bunch of posts I need to blog about! First up is an engagement session we did
with the awesome Jake and Lety. We had a great time in Pasadena about a month
ago, trying to avoid the rain! It wasnt expected obviously, but we did not let
the weather keep us from having a blast with them. Thanks for the great attitude
guys and thanks again for the awesome dinner afterwards!

sick for the last 2 weeks and I'm still not 100%! It's just been so cold that
even if I feel good during the day, I'm a mess once the sun goes
down:(
ok, that's enough about me.....we shot Saul & Rocio's engagement session at Laguna Beach a couple weekends ago. They were a blast to work with, a little shy at first but seemed totally comfortable once we got rollin'. I hope we have lots of clients like these two during 2008! Thanks guys! As you will notice, I was in a very "black and white" mood when I edited these....... downtown L.A. to shoot their engagement session. We had a total blast, although
it was kinda freezing towards the end and we all ended up getting a great
work-out by climbing all the stairs at the Disney Concert Hall! I think you'll
notice in the photographs that they were lots of fun and great subjects! Thank
you guys, for playing along, laughing, smiling and letting us try to capture
just a tiny bit of all yo good stuff!

Sandra at a local high school to take their engagement photos. Dina has known
Sandra since they were little kids so that made it super-easy and super-fun to
photograph them. Jon was a little shy at first, but I think you'll notice in the
photos that he was a complete natural once he got used to a zoom lens near his
face! Thank you Jon and Sandra for letting us choose, or suggest the location
and for trusting us that a kinda rundown, old high school could be a great
backdrop for your special photo session!

guys! Manuel and Sarai are a fun couple who have a VERY funny story about the
first time we tried to get their engagement session done. I'm not gonna spill
the beans on the story, but it has something to do with Sarai confusing 5pm with
5am, waking me up super-early on a Sunday and.....oops, you'll have to ask them
the rest...:)
Now that I think about it, we had a funny "cop interrogation" story at their first session too! You can read about it here. Ok, lets get to business, here are some photos from their engagement session.... Posted at 12:43 PM Read More Thu - August 30, 2007TEXTURES....Here's a photo from Manuel and Sarai's engagement
session that I just LOVE! I used off-camera lighting (you can see the flash in
the photo) in the middle of a bright, sunny day and then used some photoshop
skills to give it the "antique" look and finally some texture to make it look
moody......I'll post their whole engagement session tomorrow!

Attention future clients!! Attention future clients!! Check out the great pics of Marcos and Nataly. It was probably one of the easiest sessions we've done, since they were such a fun, easy-going, happy, cheerful couple! We decided to meet around the Pomona Art Colony area and just walked around one block looking for cool backdrops to set up some cool shots. Marcos and Nataly were ready to have a great time and were up for just about anything. Thanks guys for laughing at all my nonsense and for being such cool subjects! This is probably my favorite blog post to date! Charlie had contacted me and wanted us to document his marriage proposal to the love-of-his-life, Becky! Well, he had it all planned out, where, when, what, how, where he wanted us to be hiding, the music his brother was gonna be playing as he asked the big question, im telling you, every little detail was covered. So the big day was finally here, and, of course, things started getting a little hectic that day. First, the little hidden area he wanted to propose at was washed away by the high tide! Then the pounding of the waves at that time made it almost impossible to hear anything! So, I had arrived before him and realized all this and of course, i started getting VERY nervous. The problem was that he had Becky in the car with him already and that meant we counldnt really talk, and i had NO IDEA what he was gonna do now. All along, Charlie had told Becky that we were doing a "portrait" session. So, as they arrived at the beach, i think i was just as nervous as he was and we were trying to quickly figure things out as Dina briefly spoke to Becky! The amazing thing was how this "proposal" session had such a different energy than any other kind of session. I think the fact that we knew Charlie was about to ask such an important question and Becky had no clue of this, added to the excitement. But, like all of us guys, Charlie was very, very, very nervous! The funny thing was that i was too! And since i still didnt know when he was going to ask her, and i couldnt hear much because of the waves, i was rather confused when i started taking the wannabe "portraits" of them. I think Becky noticed i was all over the place, but she hung in there! Ok, sorry about the long story, it was a great, exciting, funny, and emotion-filled day for everybody and i wanted to put in all details! Dina and I battled traffic for almost 2 hours (the 91 fwy, of course!) but it was very, very, very worth it.......we had a very special portrait session to shoot. Actually, it was kind of a "make believe" portrait session. There was something VERY VERY VERY important Charlie needed to ask Becky and he wanted us there to document it..... I'm only posting a couple of pics, since i need to get my stuff ready (we leaving for a san diego weekend to celebrate 1 yr anniversary, more on that later!), but there will be many more pics within a few days, so make sure to check back often. Meet Ernest and Imelda. We met up with them in Santa Monica this past Saturday to shoot their engagement session. It was no surprise that we both ran into traffic out there (they were driving from the Oxnard area) so we were running a little late by the time we finally met up. So after saying hello and some small talk, we got right to business! They were a great couple to photograph, they were up for any ideas and Imelda always had a smile despite the freezing temperature. They gave us total freedom as far as locations so we started shooting at the parking structure we were at and kept on shooting as we made our way to a lifeguard tower on the beach..... Thanks again guys, for hanging in there and being good sports the entire evening, we cant wait for your wedding! Posted at 12:24 AM Read More Sat - March 24, 2007 |
