NEW BLOG ADDRESS!

Ok, here's the story. I bought a new 24" imac and I absolutely love it and its now the main machine I use. I sold my older computer so I tried and tried, and tried....and tried some more to load my blogging software on my new machine but it just was taking me too long to try to make the transfer work correctly. I became frustrated and decided to just start a "new" blog. It'll look almost the same, it just wont have the history of the old blog. So, to keep up to date with any of our work, here's the "newer" blog. This blog will still be here, it just wont be updated anymore after this post. Please update your bookmarks and check out some of our more recent work :)

Thanks again everybody!

Time to Blog....

This year theres gonna be some changes around here! Actually, 2007 was a great year, we learned tons of stuff about trying to run a photography business. The year started off rather slow but the 2nd half of the year saw us going all over the place to shoot weddings, portraits, personal stuff, etc.etc. Personally, I think I could've had more business but since I still have a regular 9 to 5, I think deep down inside, I was happy that it didnt get super busy, it was just right. The amount of work allowed me to still have enough time to improve workflow, post-processing techniques, lighting, business negotiations, and all kinds of other details that take up so much time. There were a few weekends where I think Dina would've rather had us doing something else, but she was a trooper and helped me in so many ways, thank you wifey!

DUHHHHHHH!!!!!

I completely forgot to renew my domain name and it was cancelled as of yesterday! That's why my website is not working and I cannot receive any emails to abe@macpd.com. I already paid but it seems to take a few days to get the domain name pointed at my site again. In case any clients or future clients need to immediately contact me, just call or text me at 909.702.1916. Obviously, if you are reading this, my blog is still up and running....

Tomorrow we're off to shoot Zeke & Ana's wedding and it is raining crazily right now!! I've never shot a wedding when it's pouring like this but I'm not nervous. I'm thinking of the rain as only another "challenge" of a wedding day. I'm confident we'll still find cool places to create some great portraits of the newlyweds! Here's a photo from engagement session that I had never posted......

Trash the Dress???

In the last year or so, the website, www.trashthedress.com has had millions and millions of hits. The idea has spread rapidly in the wedding/portrait photo community. You can take a look at their site to see what all the fuss is about, but basically, the idea is to create some awesome portraits of the bride in cool, different, or unique locations. So if anybody reading this is interested, or maybe you have a friend that might be interested, here's my offer:

-First of all, this is freeeeeee!
-A very cool "trash the dress" session, your ideas and input are welcomed.
-Your dress doesnt get "trashed", you just have to be willing to get it a little dirty.
-Hi-resolution files of your session, on cd
-We need someone fun, full of energy and willing to give all ideas a chance.
-Dates for these sessions are limited, so we'll shoot in December most likely.

So, if you are interested, shoot me an email to abe@macpd.com and include the following:
-Name
-Current photo (snapshot will do)
-Any ideas for shoot
-Why you are interested.

I'll be choosing one bride, and anybody can send in their request! Thanks again.

San Francisco Workshop!

I'm off to San Fran to attend a super-cool workshop by Nate Kaiser of The Image is Found and Susan Stripling. Both of them produce A W E S O M E work, so I'll be all eyes and ears to find out all their tips and tricks. I realllllllly recommend taking a look at their sites and blogs. I've become quite the "blog stalker" in the past few months and I do believe TheBlogisFound (nate's blog) is the best blog out there. At least from a photographer's point of view. Just viewing his work motivates and inspires you. Well, as long as I was going to San Fran, Dina thought it was a good idea to turn it into a "4-day weekend" so we'll be back sunday with lots of cool pics and stories (hopefully)!

Save the Date....Manuel+Sarai

Here's a sample of a "save the date" card which Manuel and Sarai had me design for them. They chose the color scheme and told me they just wanted something simple. We'll be doing their engagement session soon and they are gonna have me design their wedding invitation! I'm really looking forward to working with them on this!

MY ON-LINE SLIDESHOWS & ORDERING GALLERY

I finally set up my on-line slideshows and my proofing software. With weddings and engagements, you'll get a "best of" slideshow for you to enjoy and send to all your friends and family. From the slideshows, you can then link to the "viewing gallery" and order prints, copies, enlargements.....

...check out sample here .....

...the look of the logo and colors might change, this was my first attempt...
