THE SOLARES WEDDING

Saul and Rocio tied the knot a few weeks ago and we had a great time being part of their awesome day. Ok, im a little late with this post, so we'll get on with the pictures!!! Here they are....

....once we arrived at the la resort in lake arrowhead, rocio didnt feel too good, so we didnt have too much time to take portraits of bride/groom, but we took some great details of the hotel!....



...the details were sweeeeeeeet....

Baby Alyssa

We had a great time a couple of weeks ago taking some great photos of baby Alyssa! Her parents Jesus & Suzy helped us out and we all had alot of fun trying to make her laugh or giggle for about an hour. Alyssa was in a great mood until the very end when she just had enough of all four of us :)

We've had a few baby sessions recently and each one gets funner and funner (if thats a word). I'm loving taking photos of babies/kids because everyone is just so happy and excited around them. This was not a bit different! Suzy is a proud momma and Jesus is very involved in his baby's happiness....it was totally obvious how happy and excited they are to be parents. Thanks again guys for the great time and delicious dinner afterwards!!....check out the pics...

GERMAN+BERENICE....ENGAGEMENT

We caught up with German and Berenice at the Claremont Colleges to shoot their engagement session. They were ready to go as soon as we found them and were super-duper easy to photograph. It surprisingly got really cold near the end of the shoot but Berenice was way tough and hung in there as long as possible. Thank you guys for making it such a fun evening! Cant wait for your wedding in August!

I saw these flowers as we were driving around and had to try to use them as a background.....

Jake+Lety....Engagement

FINALLY!! I'm barely getting caught up with a bunch of posts I need to blog about! First up is an engagement session we did with the awesome Jake and Lety. We had a great time in Pasadena about a month ago, trying to avoid the rain! It wasnt expected obviously, but we did not let the weather keep us from having a blast with them. Thanks for the great attitude guys and thanks again for the awesome dinner afterwards!

a little dina-love...

ok, i need to post! im way behind on my blogging, but here's a quick post of the lovely dina and my new lovely 24" imac :)

here's dina too busy to pay any attention to me while i was testing out a new 35mm lens i bought for my canon 5d...

where has march gone?!?!?!

ok. it's march 27. this year is going by waaaaaay toooo fast! needless to say, we've been super busy. maybe not in a "shooting" sense, but there's plenty in the works overhere in our little business-that-could!

here's what's been going on...

-new branding coming soon. logo, colors, letterhead. i have a graphic designer working on this stuff as we speak! we're really excited with his work!
-new blog in the works!---im super excited about this. as soon as the branding is done, i can start working with peeps behind our new custom blog!
-new canon gear!
-new samples albums almost here!
-today, im going to order some a.w.e.s.o.m.e. big-sized canvas gallery prints. they are amazing! hopefully a client will drop some big bucks and order some soon to cover my costs!! ;)
-been getting orgazined around here! we're trying to work as a team to better communicate with our clients. our goal is to respond to any questions/concerns in a super-duper fast manner!

so, as you can see, its been a busy first quarter, just trying to better establish ourselves for future growth. thank you thank you thank you to all our previous and current/future clients that have been patient with us as we try to give you the best we can!!!

here are just a couple of snapshots of the griffith observatory. we went the other day and i brought along my point-n-shoot camera and finally started figuring out the manual controls.....

Eric & Leslie.....ENGAGEMENT

two weekends ago, we met up with eric and leslie for the first of two really really cool engagement sessions. although they were a bit nervous at first, they were both totally relaxed and naturals within a few minutes. even when it started raining, we didnt hear one complaint! this, along with great smiles and trusting us with locations/ideas made for some awesome images for their super-cool "sign-in" album i'll be designing for their awesome wedding in a couple of months........thanks again guys!

i rented a tilt-shift lens to try out with the new canon 5d i just bought......loved it.....you can tell which images i shot with that lens, there will be a kind of weird blurriness to themmm........

...pasadena city hall is opened again. although there was a wedding and we couldnt really shoot there, we were able to snag this cool shot....



...i've started using "longer" lenses, or "telephoto" lenses to capture the standard happy-happy pics of the couple.......


....but i REALLY love using off-camera lighting to capture some funkier images like these next two....

Babies! Babies! Babies!

since we don't have a wedding until the end of april, we have a few weekends in april where we would loooove to shoot some baby sessions. we had such an fun time with baby michael the other day, that we are eager to start shooting more kids and babies in the near future. with that said, i'd like to put a "cant-pass-this-one-up" sale for everybody who keeps up with our blog or for a friend of yours (yes! forward them our blog, or surprise them with a gift!)...here's the deal:

-a "year in the life" baby session, normally $250 for the 3 separate sessions.

-from march 4th to march 11th, if you find another friend with a baby and you BOTH sign up for a "year in the life" session (at the same time), your price will be $150 each. that's $100 off just for finding a friend!

here's a few more details about a "year in the life" session:

-these are 3 separate portrait sessions of your baby or child within one year. you will not regret documenting your kids' amazing growth with some awesome photographs!
-this price is only for the 3 sessions, there is no "print credit". my print and enlargement prices are very reasonable
-we also have tons of other cool products like albums, canvas prints, dvd slideshows, etc.
-this sale price is good only from march 4 to march 11. you and your friend must contact me so that i send both of you a contract by march 11th.
-because of the low price, both parties must pay full amount ($150 each) by march 15, via check or paypal.
-first session with your baby must take place before may 1st, the remaining sessions will be scheduled accordingly
-sessions last about 1 to 1-1/2 hours
-sorry, but if you live outside a 10 mile radius from rancho cucamonga, we have to charge a small travel fee :(

WHAT A LOOONG DAY!

yesterday, we had 2 engagement session with 2 a.w.e.s.o.m.e. couples. both sets were super-troopers since it was very cold and drizzling throughout the sessions. obviously, we had to improvise what we had planned. thank you erik, leslie, jake & lety! here's a couple of photos of each that caught my attention as i was downloading all the files last night....more to come soon....
