Importing Cost Pricing

Downloaded cost pricing files need to be dropped into the PriceUpdater Corral. Once they are there, PriceUpdater can turn retail markup and price tag printing into simple, reliable routines.

Here are the click-by-click instructions.

Tips for Printing these Instructions

What to Do What You See on the Screen

Position your downloaded Excel files and the PriceUpdater Corral so that both can be seen at the same time on your screen.

Here the downloaded files and the PriceUpdater Corral are all positioned on the desktop.

Drag the downloaded files into the PriceUpdater Corral.

You can drag them one by one, or you can "lasso" the entire group and "herd" them into the PriceUpdater Corral.

Now you're ready to let PriceUpdater go to work.

Position the mouse pointer as shown and double-click.

This opens the PriceUpdater Corral folder.

Locate the folder PriceUpdater Program Files, inside the PriceUpdater Corral, and double-click it.

PriceUpdater Program Files is a folder nested in the PriceUpdater Corral. This subfolder contains the "engine" of the program, like the engine under the hood of your automobile.

Locate Price-
Updater.EXE,
inside PriceUpdater Program Files, and double-click it.

Tip: while you've got the "hood" open, make a shortcut by right-clicking the file shown above. Place the shortcut on your desktop or under the Start menu as a convenient button for launching the program. (Mac users: Ctrl-click and make an alias for your desktop, or to place in the Apple Menu Items folder.)

The program starts up and takes you to the main screen.

Click the Update Now button (one click).

Click the Import button (one click).

Click the Proceed button (one click).

Already downloaded?

Again click the Proceed button (one click).

Now you can sit back for a moment while PriceUpdater imports all of the wholesale Excel pricing and generates your retail pricing.

During the process, a couple of status messages will flash across the screen.

On a fast machine the progress may be so swift that you cannot read the status messages.

PriceUpdater alerts you when it has finished the update.

A click on any of the three buttons across the top of the main screen takes you to retail price lists, where you'll find pricing already calculated according to your specified markup and extras.
