Lady Bird Forest * Here we find part of the

Tallest Tree * It may not look like much from the ground, but this

Tall Trees * Row of towering redwoods from Tall Trees Grove. This row constitutes one of nature's most spectacular skylines * 1196 x 1740 * (1.7MB)

Redwood Creek * Redwood creek, which flows its fish rich, otter infested waters right through the heart of Redwood National Park, is shown here. Further up this stream one will find the Tall Trees Grove, home to the world's tallest trees. * 1730 x 1181 * (1.54MB)

Dolasen Barn * On Dolason Prairie, toward the eastern side of Redwood National Park, is this picaresque barn * 1494 x 868 * (793KB)

Dolason Trail.jpg - 595 x 853 - (545KB)
Two Redwoods * You'll travel far before you'll run across a forest as beautiful as this — the Lady Bird Johnson Grove * 1502 x 2070 * (2.88MB)

Lady Bird Redwood * Taking pictures in forests are tricky because of the light. This picture was originally unusable, until it was rescued by the shadow/highlight feature in Photoshop CS * 1173 x 1725 * (1.65MB)

Redwood Overlook * On a clear day, one can see the Pacific Ocean from Redwood Overlook, over 2,000 feet in elevation * 2588 x 1764 * (3.04MB)

Lost Man Creek * Lost Man Creek is the forgotten part of Redwood National Park. Right off Highway 101 north of Bald Hills Road, it features a picaresque creek and in a forested setting * 1185 x 1722 * (1.64MB)

Lady Bird Greenery * Unlike most redwood groves, Lady Bird Johnson Grove is unique in affording a few open places where you can actually get a picture like this: i.e., on that isn't utterly ruined through the contrast of shade and sun. Here it's nearly all sun, to great effect. * 1752 x 1185 * (2.81MB)

Comment: Dolason Prairie trail is the scenic route to the tall trees. The seventeen mile round trek also involves descending over 2,000 feet of elevation to get to the Tall Trees Grove then turning around and climbing the 2,000 plus feet to get back out. I accomplished the round trip hike in a brutal six hours
