Got something to say? Good. I like that. And I really do want to hear from you.
I'm going to treat Font Geek more like a magazine than an interactive website. Which means that if you want to comment, contribute, or just tell me that I'm doing a good or bad job with the website then you'll need to e-mail me directly.
I'll look at your e-mail(s) and if I think that others would benefit from the question or comment (and possibly my response) I'll post it here in the Talk Back section of Font Geek. If your comments are really useful and I know that what you have to say is going to benefit a lot of people, I'll turn it into an article and post it as a "Top Story" in the appropriate category -- giving you the credit you deserve of course. |
Wether I use your comment(s) or article(s) or not, I'll try very hard to at least e-mail you back and thank you for your effort and time. If I don't get back to you, please e-mail me again and remind me. (I get busy sometimes and need reminding -- smile.)
Submission Guidelines...
I do have a few guidelines that I would like to ask you to respect and follow. These are not mandatory. I don't believe in telling people they MUST do something. But it's important to remember that your best chance of having your words posted here are to follow these guidelines. Articles and/or comments that don't follow these guidelines will probably not get posted unless they have a lot of value.
1. If you are going to comment on a particular article, please quote the article name and/or copy and paste the link for that article.
2. Please don't send comments or submissions anonymously. I have a lot of trouble with someone who says something but doesn't have the courage to sign their name. Anonymous comments or articles will probably not be posted and may not even be read.
3. Speaking of telling me who you are... I'd very much appreciate it if you would include all of your contact information. (I won't publish all of this information. I'll only publish your name and e-mail address.) If you're commenting as a representative of a business, I reserve the right to add your company name, your title, and any credentials that help to explain your comments or qualifications.
4. Please make sure you give me your phone number. If I need to check out any facts or other information in your comments, e-mail can be kind of slow. I prefer to call and follow-up by phone. It's faster. (And I won't give your phone number out. I promise.)
Note: If you have a vCard that contains all of the information that I asked for in #3 and #4 I'd rather have that.
5. I would like to request your picture. I think it's more personal if Font Geek's readers can see who is talking to them. If you would please send me a picture of your face I'd very much appreciate it.
6. Please keep your language clean. The web has become a place where people vent without thinking. And a certain amount of venting is good. In fact I have a category that's dedicated to "Rants & Ramblings." But I consider profanity (for the sake of profanity) to be content without "class." And I won't post it in Font Geek.
7. Please don't plagiarize or misrepresent yourself. If you're going to use content from another source, give that source it's due credit. If you say something that isn't really you, make sure that you've qualified it appropriately. I will be checking content and sources and won't post something that's not legitimate. Further more, I'll make a point of calling out anyone who tries to pass something off on me (I'll post who you are and what you tried to "pull") in the Rants & Rambling section of Font Geek
8. Please check your grammar and run spell check. I shouldn't have to tell you why. |
And that's it. See. It wasn't that painful.
Now that you have this information, I can't wait to hear from you.
All my best.
-Benjamin Levisay, "Font Geek"
