| A Little More about Scott Stoel... | | Date Created: 06 Mar, 2005, 10:43 PM |
My name is Scott Stoel and I've been struggling with fonts as a designer and prepress technician for the last ten years, and recently, in creating my own typefaces.
I believe in the abolition of multiple-master fonts, harsh punishment for anyone who uses more than one version of Helvetica (or any font for that matter) in a single document, that every course or tutorial in any graphics program begin with how to use the "Save for Service Provider" or "Collect for Output" command, that Adobe should win a Nobel Prize for Optical Kerning in InDesign and a second (not an ordinary one, one of the big ones that make the Stanley Cup look like a keychain trinket) for including Overprint Preview in InDesign and Illustrator and Separation Preview in Acrobat, but should have them immediately taken away for not moving ATM Deluxe to OS X, and that FontGeek.net is doing the Lord's Work.
Among my interests are loud music, AppleScript, Mexican fireworks, art, machines that hurl large vegetables great distances, firearms, mixing cocktails (old school stuff like Manhattans and Singapore Slings) and, you guessed it, fonts and font management.
And now, scream it with me at the top of your lungs - "Viva le FontGeek!"
