 Here is all my biographical & contact information.
A Short Biography...
In my capacity as MIS and webmaster for the XRX corporation (publishers of Knitter's Magazine & XRX Books, and promoters of Stitches Consumer Shows), I gained wide-ranging experience in the maintenance of high-end graphics workstations and professional publishing software. This included research, implementation, installation, and training for graphic artists, production professionals, and technicians. With a background acquired in such a high-pressure production and design environment, I became more in demand as a consultant, trainer, and trouble-shooter. This experience led to the formation, with two partners—Dan Meinke & Larry Lamb—of MacDoctors, an Apple, Adobe, & Epson reseller and service provider, in Southeastern South Dakota. |
 As one of the principles, I helped MacDoctors position itself as a vital resource in its service area. The company is now able to provide highly specialized hardware and networking solutions, and consulting and training for the graphic arts community. I also served as the principal trainer and prepress consultant. My specialties with MacDoctors included font management, image processing, and digital asset management—including inline managed color workflow. |
 In 2001 I co-authored Photoshop 6 InDepth for Coriolis. In 2004, I authored my latest book; OS X Secrets: Panther Edition for Wiley Publications. Other books, with subject matter that coincides with my areas of special expertise on the Macintosh platform, figure in my future plans.
My specialized knowledge of the Mac OS and font-related issues, (as well as my web site, FontGeek.net) brought me into contact with the marketing and support personel at Insider Software. I worked for a year consulting with Insider Software on a freelance basis about a wide range of issues. In June of 2005 I was offered and accepted a position with Insider Software. Having sold my interest in MacDoctors to my partners, I have now joined the staff of Insider Software as Director of Product Management and Services. |
