John Wright's Phoenix Exultant and Golden Transcendence


The 2nd two books in the trilogy, which began with The Golden Age (my review here), are finally behind me. I read the last word of The Golden Transcendence this morning. What a fabulous book, in an incredible trilogy. Actually, I wasn't quite as all-fire excited about the middle book, the Phoenix Exultant, as the first and last, but it is a necessary ingredient to reach the events of the last book, The Golden Transcendence. I kid you not, these books are some of the best sci-fi you'll ever read. John Wright squeezes more interesting ideas into a single page than some sci-fi books are able to come up with over the entire manuscript.
