Space Delay


Here is another reason to despise Tom DeLay:

"[...] powerful politicians -- like House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, whose 22nd Congressional District in Texas includes NASA's Johnson Space Center, home to Mission Control and 15,000 jobs -- are fighting hard to prevent the billions of dollars in shuttle funding from being diverted to new spaceships."

Because the Shuttle is working out SOOO well for us, NASA is better off NOT getting private spacecraft developers involved with their own new ideas for a fraction of the cost of traditional contractors? Riiiight.
