Politics hits Close to Home: Cantwell voted for CAFTA

My own state Senator, Maria Cantwell, who I've often lauded and pointed to as a model Democratic senator, voted for CAFTA. Because she isn't a democratic senator that votes consistently against a populist agenda, it is all the more inconceivable to me that she voted for this awful legislation that is only good for corporations, not for regular 9-5ers who want to make a good living in the United States (she isn't as bad as the 9 representatives in the House who always sellout their party, or the 3 senators who do the same in her own Senate chamber, but...).

If you live in Washington state, why don't you email her, as I've done, to let her know the level of your disappointment.

These sorts of votes, that strike at the heart of Democratic unity, must have consequences if politicians are to be held to their promise to represent those who elected them.
