Florida Historic
Trails are still available for hiking and earning
patches. Founded in 1970 by Dr. Milledge Murphey at
the University of Florida, the Florida Historic
Trail Association supports trails that cover areas
of historic importance. A set of directions leads
your group on its journey while questions require
responses to prove that you actually completed the
trail properly.
There is very little information on the Internet to assist you with learning more about the trails and the process for registration.
I have posted a compressed folder with the brochure and forms needed to register for the trails and to request patches in the Downloads section.
The trails include: Ft. Clinch Historic Trail, Ft. Clinch Environmental Trail, St. Augustine Historic Trail, Osceola-Olustee Historic Trail, Ft. Matanzas Historic Trail, Ft. Caroline Historic Trail, Tampa Historic Trail, and Ft. George Historic Trail.
