No Christmas? .... No Worries!

    As you celebrate  your holiday

it may just cross your mind

To think I might feel some regret

                       for leaving Christmas behind .

But shed no tears, there is no grief

with which I need to cope ,

For I've exchanged that festive day

                       nfor an earthly paradise hope.

So here I share a poem with you

                                       my feelings to explain

That what may seem too  you like loss,

                                         for me is purely gain.

I wrote this poem in 1989, or thereabouts (all rights reserved and all that jazz) for a dear friend who, with all the best intentions, needlessly worried that not celebrating Christmas would rob my life of all joy and happiness.  So, to reassure her of my emotional and spiritual well-being, I wrote these three verses..  After all, I do worship "the happy God". (1 Tim. 1:11)
